My name is Melanie Staf, I am a 19 year old girl from Sweden. I started wakeboarding when I was 13 years old at Västerås Cable Park, and 6 years later I now have 2 gold and 2 bronze medals from the World Championships and a bunch of national titles. In addition to that I have also had the honor to win the Swedish Female Rider of the year award...two years in a row.
Already after my very first competition I knew wakeboarding was something I wanted to become one of the greatest at. But I also knew it would cost a lot of blood, sweat and tears to reach my goal.
When I was 16 I moved away from my parents to start my studies at the Wakeboarding School in Fagersta, Sweden. That really made it possible to focus 100 % on my wakeboarding career. I got a spot in the national team and started participating in international contests when I was still in first grade of School. Today, I have graduated from school and am still doing contest all over the world. Wakeboarding has become a life style.
